POINT CLOUD FLYTHROUGH

Point cloud animation is a video flythrough of a high-resolution 3D point cloud data. To generate such animation a 3D laser scanning survey is initially conducted of a building or site. The scanned data is then registered, processed and converted into a single point cloud file. The point cloud is then cleaned from all unnecessary data prepared for creation of animation tour. As we use Faro technology 3D laser scanning equipment, we use Faro Scene as one of the softwares to register, process, modify and create virtual tour animations.

A virtual fly through route is then created with respect to the focus on key features and elements of the building or site, which then gets rendered. The benefit of point cloud flythrough animation compared to the standard physical video recording is the fact that you can achieve the same angles of shots and flow of camera path without the requirement of hiring drones, cranes and ladders which would be required to get the same result using a physical camera. Point cloud flythrough are also beneficial as they are contactless and are a digital way of producing the animation video, eliminating the health and safety and damages to sensitive environment risks.
